SGM Group of companies is carrying out certain scope of works to renovate Artek International Children’s Centre (ICC) in accordance with "The Social and Economic Development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol till 2020" RF National Program.

As of June 01 2014, Artek’s infrastructure comprised over 400 buildings and structures, complex water, heat and energy supply systems, air conditioning system, telecommunications and sewage disposal system, which were constructed in 1961-1989 and became obsolete. Over 80 thousand square meters of buildings and structures were worn out; over 15 thousand meters of utility systems were out-of-repair. Based on the Rospotrebnadzor’s evaluation report just 10 Artek’s camps out of 5 were in operation, where 2 camps had temporary permit needed to accommodate children.

In 2014, STROYGAZMONTAZH became General Contractor and General Designer related to renovation and major repairs of Artek. From 2014 to 2017, thanks to SSK Gazregion, being the subsidiary of STROYGAZMONTAZH, and other contractors 9 camps were renovated and put into operation: Lazurny, Kiparisny, Yantarny, Khrustalny, Morskoy, Rechnoy, Ozerny, Lesnoy and Polevoy.

Different facilities located at more than 280,000 m2 were renovated, including 96.5 thousand square meters related to 9 camps (35 living buildings), 23 km of roads, 19 km of utility networks, 6 canteens, 9 sports grounds, 3 tennis courts, 3 medical stations, etc. Adult education center (6 thousand square meters), climbing wall and ropes course were put into operation.

In 2017, three living buildings of Pribrezhny camp were built: The Tulip, The May Lily and The Water Lily. All buildings were designed and constructed with due regard to natural landscape preservation. Thus, to keep safe the roots of relict metasequoia designers have changed the shape of certain camp.

To ensure the safety of Artek’s children in compliance with the instruction of the President of the RF a physical barrier was installed around the area, which is 4.5 km long.

The Artek-Arena entertainment center for 4.5 thousand seats has been constructed. It covers 3.9 thousand square meters.

The construction of new camp has started; the Solnechny camp is designed for 1,000 children and occupies 6.1 hectares.

According to the strategy of development the Artek Centre will host nearly 10 thousand children and 5 thousand employees after completion.
