The Gryazovets — Vyborg trunk gas pipeline is being constructed by the SGM Group of Companies by order of LLC Gazprom invest. The gas pipeline is designated for supply of gas to the Nord Stream gas pipeline and to the consumers of the Northwestern Region of Russia.
In 2010, STROYGAZMONTAZH has completed the construction of the first string of Gryazovets — Vyborg gas pipeline (300 km of its linear part) and in 2012 it has completed construction works at eight portions of the second string (total length of 700 km).
The major portion of the route, which runs across the Leningrad and Vologda regions, passed through swamps. SGM Group technical staff has applied new domestic technology of ground stabilization to the parts of the route with the most unstable soils (blue clay).
Construction works had to be performed also in rock formations. Builders were to solve difficult technical tasks, including construction of the crossings under the Neva river and the Saimaa channel, Vyborg — Buslovskaya rail road, in complicated geologic conditions by microtunneling technique.
STROYGAZMONTAZH is the General Contractor of construction of 6 compressor stations (out of 7) on first and second string of Gryazovetskaya, Volkhovskaya, Sheksninskaya, Babaevskaya, Pikalevskaya and Elizavetinskaya gas pipelines.
Construction of Gryazovets — Vyborg trunk gas pipeline made it possible to directly connect the Unified Gas Supply System of Russia and Gas Transportation System of Europe.
